David and I never wanted a Summer wedding. Being hot, bothered and worried about getting good weather to make the day just seemed totally unnecessary. An early January wedding has it’s own set of issues though as if last Winter is anything to go by we may be in for some heavy snowfalls. My only hope for the day is that the weather allows everyone to make it to the venue.
A few weeks ago I discovered the lovely people at Positive Weather Solutions do a “Wedding Bells” weather service. For a small fee they provide monthly forecasts leading up to the wedding, followed by weeklies in the last month and dailies in the last week. You may have heard of PWS as their long range predictions often make headline news and regularly out-predict the MET office
I have just received my first forecast and wanted to share it with you all:
Winter 2009/10 was a difficult winter, prolonged cold snaps and snowfall. PWS correctly predicted this back in September 2009. For this winter, it will be on a par with the last, or slightly less harsh I think. It is more than likely that for the chosen time frame that includes your wedding, it will be cold, but probably without any snow. It is likely that temperatures will be low to mid single figures, and despite having passed the shortest day last month, daylight will still be at a premium. It’s a difficult call to nail it down to one particular day at this distance, and I think the best case scenario for you, would be a clear, crisp, sun-filled day, with a roaring log fire in the hall? That might just happen. Recent times have also generated wetter conditions for the start of a new year too, but as I say, it’s going to be a cold winter again, so expect that I think. Whether it will be dry is another matter. As we approach that date, I will begin to have a better understanding as to the weather patterns that will finally decide the day’s outcome.
Disclaimer. Whilst every effort is taken to provide as accurate a forecast as possible, we cannot guarantee the eventual outcome of the prediction made.
I have to say, I’m really pleased with the fantastic and personal service from PWS. If you’ve found this site from theirs and are considering buying the service, I highly recommend it.
